Lenalidomide Side Effects
Lenalidomide medication costs is used alone or with dexamethasone to treat multiple myeloma (a type of cancer of the bone marrow). It is also used to prevent disease recurrence after a hematopoietic stem cell transplant. This medicine may cause a serious reaction in some people. Tell your doctor right away if you have severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, or drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS).
Diarrhea is a common side effect but it is usually mild and can be treated with other medications. Your doctor may change your doses or how often you take this medication. Talk to your doctor if you are having diarrhea that is not going away or if you have very loose stool or stomach pain.

Other serious side effects of this medication include a decrease in the number of blood cells in your body. This can cause a serious and sometimes deadly condition called thrombocytopenic purpura. Tell your doctor right away if you get signs of low blood cells such as fever, chills, sore throat, headache, or tiredness. Also, call your doctor if you have easy bruising or bleeding; nosebleeds; or black and tarry stools.
This medication can cause pregnancy. Women should use an extra form of birth control, such as a condom, during treatment and for 4 weeks afterward. Men should not have sexual intercourse while taking this medicine and for 4 weeks afterward. Both women and men should use a barrier method of contraception until they finish the course of treatment and for a month afterward.
